Award winning microbrewery, Darling Brew, which is situated in the quaint town of Darling on the Cape West Coast, has completed work on their exciting new purpose-built brewery and it will be open to the public from Saturday 05 December – in time for season.
This must-visit new Darling Brew Tasteroom & Brewery offers a fantastic day out and was developed to allow an all in one Darling Brew experience. In addition to a new state of the art brewery with increased capacity, the new premises offers an interactive and fascinating beer tasting experience in the tasting room and bar which overlooks the working brewery, a restaurant that serves delicious meals made from fresh, organic, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and beautiful gardens with a play area for the kids – perfect for young families. There is also plenty of parking available.
Visitors to Darling Brew can enjoy a locally sourced smoke house menu indoors or outside in the garden and beer lovers can enjoy the Darling Brew craft beers with a selection of light meals.
Slow down and taste the beer.
With modern industrial architecture that is in keeping with the area in which the brewery is situated, Darling Brew’s new brewery embodies the Darling Brew slogan “Slow Beer” – which was developed by the owners of Darling Brew, Kevin and Philippa Wood, who wanted to compliment and represent the slower paced lifestyle of the area by harnessing an unhurried fermentation process.
Darling Brew’s list of carefully crafted beers, which fall under the categories of Pale Ale, India Pale Ale, Wit Beer and Light Lager, have been named after endangered or misunderstood South African wildlife – with the Slow Beer being named after the Geometric Tortoise, Black Mist named after the Verreaux Eagle, Silver Back named after the Honey Badger, Rogue Pony named after the Plains Zebra and Bone Crusher after the Spotted Hyena.
Other beers on the menu include Gypsy Mask, Thunder Bird and Sungazer, and in addition to these “regulars”, Darling Brew currently have two limited edition seasonal beers available, so there is no time like the present to visit the new Darling Brew Tasteroom & Brewery and try their limited time only new beers, as well as the others on the menu.
Darling is only 76km’s away from Cape Town and an easy drive on the R27 or N7 highways. Located in the important Cape West Coast Biodiversity Corridor, there are a myriad of attractions available in the area – ranging from flowers and bird watching in the surrounding nature reserves, to mountain biking, hiking, art, a treasure hunt departing from Darling Museum (home to the Butter Museum), shows at Evita se Perron, or tasting the world class wines available in the area.
