Darling Summer Festival #dsf19 kicks off the festive season with music, beer and great food. Why wait for Christmas to get your holiday vibe on?
There won’t be tinsel, but there will be beer, and the fun will flow at Darling Brewery in the West Coast village of Darling on Saturday, December 14.
We’ve booked some incredible acts to entertain you and keep the festive vibe going all day. Would you believe, we managed to snag Red Tape Riot for our event? One of our co-founder’s favourite bands, they love our beer and the crowds we draw to our events..
When we asked them who they’d like to share the stage with, they introduced us to Congo Cowboys. It was love at first listen! We booked them on the spot. You are going to freak when you hear these guys. Their music is a fusion of Central African lyricism and banjo-led bluegrass rock. Can’t wait!
Supporting the bands and keeping the vibe at peak between sets is no mean task. Thankfully DJ Steak walks among us. Steak killed it at the Winter Festival this year with his easy-listening funky mixes. The Summer Festival vibes will be hot, hot, hot.
What about the beer though?
Seven great guest breweries are joining Darling Brew to bring some of the best beers and ciders in the region to the party. Saggy Stone is one of our favourites, and was one of the first to sign up. “Darling Summer Festival? We’re there!”
Glad to have you guys.
Not to be outdone, Riot Beer put their hand up straightaway, and the Old Potter Brew Pub jumped in too. Black Eagle Brewing from Langebaan will be making the short trip to Darling, as will Beerworks and Shields Indie Brewing.
How about you? Tickets are only R120 through Webtickets, and it really is a short trip to Darling. You could wait and get tickets at the gate, but they’re R150 on the day. Wouldn’t you rather have the extra 30 bucks for beer?
The cider side of things will be held up by our friends and great cider brewers, Loxtonia. Their orchard-to-bottle ciders are hugely popular and the perfect party partners for our beers.
All these breweries will be serving the best of their craft brews all day, while the entertainment rocks around them. It’s seriously going to be cooler than Christmas.
Food is sorted
You won’t go hungry either. The Karl and Greg from Beer Country are coming on board to keep the fun Summer-simmering. Their unique blend of Beer, Food and Fire is all the excuse you need to crack a cold one and settle in for a jol.
Braai-based treats from Beer Country will be supported by our Tasteroom Kitchen with contemporary takes on popular street foods. We’ll have a stand with fresh West Coast oysters too. What a time to be in Darling?
So it’s settled. No need to pack lunch. We have something for everyone. We even have something to keep the kids busy. Our mega-jungle gym is a fixture at the brewery, but how about a slippy-slide to make sure the fun never stops for the little ones?
Tickets at R120 through Webtickets or R150 at the gate include a commemorative Darling Summer Festival glass. Under 12s enter free. Teens R80, but no glass included.
Summer sunshine and beer are waiting for you in Darling!
